Esther Johnson is a community media advocate and youth leader who champions civic and climate rights. She is a VOW for Girls and Greenlight4Girls Ambassador and a CIVICUS member. Esther is building the first solar-powered community radio in Twambui, Endau/Malalani Ward, Kitui East, Kenya. The station’s core community impact goals are to create local employment, strengthen the community economy, offer workshops for farmers and residents on diverse topics, and connect people with national current affairs and governance. She specialises in designing inclusive media spaces that bridge local communities with regional decision-making processes.
