Dr Constance Kasiyamhuru is a lecturer in the Department of Design Studies at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. She holds a BSc Honours in Media and Society Studies from Midlands State University, as well as an MA and PhD in Communication from the University of Johannesburg. Her research focuses on digital and visual political communication in Africa, with particular interest in how digital media technologies and social media platforms shape political participation, citizenship, and public discourse. Her work explores the intersections of media, politics, and society within the African digital sphere. She is also an active feminist scholar whose interests include feminist theory, gender representation, intersectionality, and the role of media in advancing gender equality and social justice.
