Mercy Orengo is a Kenyan journalist with more than two decades of reporting experience across Africa, Europe, and the United States. She has covered press freedom, children’s rights, environmental conflict, and communities whose stories rarely reach the public record. Her work has appeared in the Columbia Journalism Review, The Guardian, and SciDev.Net, among other publications. She holds an MA in Journalism from Columbia University and is a Nieman Visiting Fellow at Harvard University and a Scripps Fellow at the University of Colorado Boulder.
